The Little Prince with sad eyes
We urgently need blood for Anton of Korobovy. All donors who were “in stock”, for whatever reasons, cannot donate blood. The kid is being treated at the National Institute of Cancer.
This particular story, unlike anything else, is so unreal… I hope that it will have a happy ending.

Six months ago, little Anton lived at home, in the Kuibyshev region of Donetsk, and did not suspect that he will spent the New Year 2013 at the Institute of Cancer in Kiev. His mother, Natasha Korobova, did not think her 41st birthday would be celebrated in the hospital along with her son. After speaking with our volunteer, it became clear that Natasha recently buried her mother, whose heart could not survive the grandson’s tragedy.
Anton has been diagnosed with retroperitoneal neuroblastoma (stage four). The kid was treated at the National Institute of Cancer (Kiev) where the doctors observed that metastasis already occurred and on March 11 Anton began a course of chemotherapy. At the beginning of treatment the child was in hard condition; his mother told: “You know, he just lays there and looks at one spot… when someone spoke to him or tried to pick him up, he turned his head away. He doesn’t want to eat, drink or play. I’m desperate and don’t know what to do.”
After Christmas Anton became more positive – alive. His parents got a new hope for their son’s recovery. Just recently, doctors suggested that he is hopeless and they can’t help. Today the opportunity is there and he has a chance to survive. It makes sense to be treated further!
His mother said: “I believe that we can get through this. When I saw my baby got back to life, I realized that I can help him, and I will make this all possible. Earlier, I remember watching on TV/Internet requests for financial assistance for the treatment of children and could not imagine that the same could happen to my child. We give everything away to fight for our son’s life. We hope that others would be able to understand our pain and help us to partially cover the costs that fall outside of our salaries and savings.”
We urgently need blood for Anton. All free donors who were “in stock”, for whatever reasons, cannot donate blood. We ask everyone to help and support Anton’s treatment (several transfusions; up to 8 units of blood; total $2,400). We hope to get help from others, who can feel and understand our pain and help us by covering the costs that are outside of our salaries.
